Connecting VAG 1551 Scan Tool

VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), connecting

Test Requirements:
^ Battery Positive Voltage (8+) OK
^ Fuse 22 (S22) OK
^ Ground (GND) connections on engine and transmission OK (location: below lower part of intake manifold)
^ A/C switched OFF

- Unclip cover for Data Link Connectors (DLC) under heating/ventilation controls.



- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool with adapter harness VAG 1551/1 as follows:
- First connect black connector from Scan Tool adapter harness to black Data Link Connector (DLC).

Indicated on display
[V.A.G. - ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC HELP ]
[1-Rapid data transfer* ]
[2-Blink code output* ]
* Operating modes 1 and 2 are displayed alternately.

Note: If no display appears, do not connect the white connector. In this case, check the voltage supply for the VAG 1551 Scan Tool.

- Connect white connector from VAG 1551/1 adapter harness to white Data Link Connector (blue connector is not used).
