EVAP Canister
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)
Removing
- Remove the center and rear mufflers.
- Remove the shield bolts - arrows - and shield.
- For supporting purposes, place the (V.A.G 1383 A) under the rear subframe.
- Loosen the rear subframe bolts - arrows - and unscrew them approximately 20 mm.
- Slowly lower the rear subframe using (V.A.G 1383 A).
- Disconnect the vent lines - A - by pressing the release buttons.
- Remove the bolts - B -.
• A reinforcement plate is installed on the Eos. Use (3185) to loosen and tighten the bolts - B -.
- Release the retaining straps - A - using a screwdriver. Rotate the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister approximately 90 degrees clockwise - B - and remove the EVAP canister.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
- Connect the ventilation lines until they engage audibly.
- Install the rear subframe.
Tightening Specifications
Leak Detection Pump (V144)
Removing
- Remove the right rear wheel housing liner..
- Disconnect the vacuum line - 1 -.
- Separate the electrical connector - 2 -.
- Disconnect the vent line - 3 - by pressing the release button.
- Remove the nuts - arrows -.
- Disengage the leak diagnostic pump with bracket.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• Vent line - 3 - must engage audibly.
- Install the right rear wheel housing liner..
Tightening specifications, refer to => [ EVAP System Component Overview ] EVAP System Component Overview.
Leak Detection Pump (V144)
Removing
- Remove the vacuum line - 1 -, ventilation line - 2 - and ventilation line - 3 -.
- Remove the nuts - arrows -.
- Remove the leak detection pump with bracket and disconnect the electrical connector.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• Before installing the leak detection pump with bracket, connect the electrical connector.
• Vent line - 2 - must engage audibly.
