Oil Pump Assembly Overview

• Note the following when installing the oil pump: First tighten all bolts by hand. Then tighten the oil pressure line - item 7 - at the cylinder block and then at the oil pump - item 3 -. Tighten the oil pump bolts - item 4 - last.





1 Spacer Washer

2 Input Shaft

• For the oil pump drive.

3 Oil Pump Housing

4 Bolt, 23 Nm

5 Oil Pump Cover with Pressure Relief Valve

• Opening pressure: 5.3 to 5.7 bar.

• Clean the strainer if contaminated.

6 Gears

• Checking backlash, refer to => [ Checking the Oil Pump Backlash ].

• Checking axial play, refer to => [ Checking the Oil Pump Axial Clearance ].

7 Oil Pressure Line

• Apply sealant (AMV 188 001 02) to the oil pump housing.

• Install with new "micro-encapsulated" bolts.

8 Bolt, 8 Nm

• Always replace.

9 Seal

• Replace if damaged.

10 Bolt, 8 Nm

Wear limit: 0.20 mm
