Leak Detection Pump: Service and Repair

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing

- Read the safety precautions before starting. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Fuel Supply.

- Pay attention to the rules of cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Fuel Supply.

- Remove the right rear wheel.

- Remove the right rear wheel housing liner.

- Disconnect the vacuum line - 1 - from the Leak Detection Pump (LDP).






- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 -.

- Disconnect the connecting line - 3 -.

Press the securing ring to disengage the line.

- Remove the nuts - arrows -.

- Remove the LDP and bracket.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ EVAP System Component Overview ] EVAP System Component Overview.

The connecting line - 3 - must engage audibly.
