Windshield Wiper Arms, Adjusting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331/)

- Deactivate APP function. Refer to => [ Wiper Motor Alternating Park Position Function, Deactivating ] Wiper Motor Alternating Park Position Function, Deactivating.

- Actuate wiper motor into the end position and then switch off ignition.

- Now set the park positions of the windshield wiper blades.

Driver Side






The gap dimension - A - between the center of the wiper blade and lower edge of the windshield must be 15 mm.

- If necessary, set end position of windshield wiper blades by offsetting wiper arms.

Wiper arms, removing, refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arm ] Service and Repair.

- Tighten the bolt to the specification shown in => [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.

Passenger Side






The distance - B - between the wiper blade and the upper edge of the plenum chamber cover must be 15 mm.

- If necessary, set end position of windshield wiper blades by offsetting wiper arms.

Wiper arms, removing, refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arm ] Service and Repair.

- Tighten the bolt to the specification shown in => [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.
