Start System Button (E378)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (VAS 3409)

• When removing and installing components in a visible area (switches, covers, trim, etc.), mask off the areas at which a prying tool ( (VAS 3409) , screwdriver) will be positioned, using commercially available adhesive tape.

Removing

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.






- Pry off the cap on the start system button - arrows - using the (VAS 3409) or use a screwdriver.






- Disconnect the connectors - arrows - and remove the start system button.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

• Make sure the start system button cap fits securely in the steering column trim.
