Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Release Tool (T10238)

Removing

- Remove the steering column cover retainers - arrows - and cover.






- Pry out the cap - 3 - with a screwdriver.






- Remove the bolt - 2 -.

- Release the connector - 1 - - arrow - and remove it from the accelerator pedal module.

- Push the release tool (T10238) into the intended openings up to the stop, as shown, and remove the accelerator pedal module.






Installing

- Connect the electrical connector - 1 - to the accelerator pedal module - 4 -. Lock the connector - arrow -.






- Press the accelerator pedal module onto the studs - 5 -.

- Insert the centering pin - 6 - into the hole on the vehicle floor.

- Secure the accelerator pedal module with the bolt - 2 - and install the cap - 3 -.

- Install the steering column cover and retainers - arrows -.






- If the accelerator pedal module was replaced, adapt it to the Engine Control Module (ECM). Refer to "Guided Functions" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.

- If the accelerator pedal module was replaced on a vehicle with a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), program the kick down function. Refer to "Guided Functions" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.
