Always follow the instructions regarding disconnecting and connecting the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

The steering column switch base carrier must be removed first in order to remove the steering lock housing.


The steering lock could get damaged.

If the steering lock is operated without lock cylinder, it will lock up and then it will have to be replaced.

Steering lock must not be operated without lock cylinder.

Removing

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting ] Battery, Disconnecting.

- Remove the steering column switch mount:

Vehicles with access/start control module (KESSY), refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Mount, Valeo ] Steering Column Switch Mount, Valeo or => [ Steering Column Switch Mount, Kostal ] Steering Column Switch Mount, Kostal.
