Remove seat from vehicleRemove:
Slacken off
Models to 1991:
- Slacken off screw at rear edge of side panel.
- Carefully lift side panel. NOTE: Short wiring.
- Slacken off lap-belt fastening.
1992 - 1994 Models:
- Move seat up as far as possible.
- Slacken off lap-belt fastening (without slackening off side panel).
1995 Models:
- Lift cap of side panel.
- Lower seat-cushion rear edge as far as possible.
- Slacken off lap-belt fastening.
Remove
- Remove caps over rear fixing screws at both sides by pulling them backwards.
NOTE: Certain 1995 vehicles have a new design of cap. These are removed by lifting upwards.
- Remove screws in guide rails rear edge.
Models to 1987:
- Remove cap over outer screw in guide rail front edge.
- Remove screws in guide rail front edge, outer screw is slackened off from the front.
- Lift outer guide rail front edge.
- Disconnect electrical connectors.
Models from 1988:
- Remove cap over outer screw in guide rail front edge.
- Remove screws in guide rail front edge. They are slackened off from the front.
- Disconnect electrical connectors.
If necessary, remove head restraint to ease removal of seat from vehicle:
760 up to chassis number 53882:
- Press down backrest front side approx 90 mm (3 6/10") from upper edge.
- Pull head restraint upwards.
Other models and later 760 series:
- Press directly under frame at rear of backrest.
- Simultaneously pull head restraint directly upwards.
Move seat
- Pull seat back against stop.
- Pull seat approx 5 mm (1/5") forwards.
- Lift seat up so that guide rail locating pins come clear of "keyholes" in floor-plate.
Replace:
Replace
- NOTE: All models have sealing in the inner guide rail "keyholes" in the floor-plate, or around the guide rail locating pins, to prevent ingress of water.
- Insert guide rail locating pins in holes in floor-plate.
- Move seat forwards to align screw holes.
- Connect electrical leads.
- Tighten seat-to-floor fixing screws to 45 Nm (33 ft.lb) tightening torque.
- Replace caps over rear fixing screws.
- Press down cap over screw at front edge and tighten fixing screws.
- Replace lap-belt fastening. Tightening torque 45 Nm (33 ft.lb).
Models to 1991:
- Replace side panel.
1995 Model:
- Replace cover on side panel.
