Mechanical overview
- Check the air and vacuum hoses for leakage according to U. Air and vacuum hoses. U. Checking the Air and Vacuum Hoses

If no air leakage is discovered.

Checking the injection pulses
Connect a voltmeter between 1 and 2 on on one of the injectors.
- Start the engine.
The voltmeter should show 200-400 mV

If the value Is OK:
^ RB. Checking the throttle valve. RB. Adjustment of Throttle Valve

If the value differs:
^ Checking the engine temp. sensor HA3.

Checking the engine temp. sensor
Troubleshoot according to EG. Fault code 1-2-3 Engine temp. sensor signal absent or faulty. DTC 1-2-3

If no fault is discovered:
Intermittent fault.
^ Check the connectors for loose connection according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
