KA. Idling Engine Stops Running When Loaded

KA. Idling Engine Stops Running When Loaded

If an idling engine stops running when loaded (when the A/C is connected, Drive is engaged or the steering wheel is turned fully for example), it is most likely that the TB is wrongly adjusted.

Try the following method to increase the throttle air flow. The problem may return as deposits around the edges of the throttle disc reduce this volume of air after some time.

Adjusting The Throttle Body (TB)
- Connect a wire between terminals 1 and 2 of the TP switch wiring harness connector.

Note: Ensure that jumper contact is good. If no signal is obtained between terminals 1 and 2, the control module will go into Limp Home Mode.

- Remove the TP switch (loosen the two screws somewhat).
- Engine warm and idling. Gear selector in Neutral and A/C off.
- Disconnect the hose to the AC valve where it connects onto the air hose. Plug both the IAC valve hose and the hole in the air hose so that both are airtight.

- Adjust the engine speed to 500+20 rpm using the throttle spindle adjustment screw.

Note: It is important that engine speed remains within these limits.

- Switch off the engine.
- Tighten the adjustment screw locknut. Hold the adjustment screw so that it does not rotate with the nut.
- Remove the jumper wire from the TP switch connector.

Important: Carry out WC. Adjusting the TP switch. WC. Adjusting the TP Switch

- Check the throttle lever clearance.
