Contact reel/steering wheel angle sensor, replacing

Preparations




Disconnect the battery lead. See Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting.

Removing the contact reel and steering wheel angle sensor





Remove:
- the steering column covers. See Replacing the steering column covers Service and Repair
- the steering wheel. See Steering wheel, replacing Steering Wheel, Replacing.
Disconnect the left connector.

Remove:
- four screws
- the contact reel.

Installing the contact reel and steering wheel angle sensor

Note! For tightening torques, see [1][2]Specifications

Install:
- the contact reel
- the 4 M5 screws. Tighten
- the connector.
Zero the contact reel. See Contact reel driver airbag module, resetting Adjustments.

Install:
- the steering wheel. See Steering wheel, replacing Steering Wheel, Replacing
- the steering column covers. See Replacing the steering column covers Service and Repair.
