Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Description and Operation
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor:
The water temperature (TW) sensor is mounted in the cylinder head. The sensor consists of a thermistor bulb. As water temperature increases, sensor resistance decreases. The ECU receives sensor information as resistance to ground on pin C6. Water temperature information is used to determine proper fuel delivery.
