SRS Unit Replacement

Removal

1. Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, Procedures then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2. Remove the center trim. Dashboard Center Trim Removal/Installation

3. Remove the center console. Center Console Removal/Installation

4. Remove the rear vent duct. Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Removal/Installation

5. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (28P), SRS unit connector B (28P), SRS unit connector C (28P), and remove the TORX bolts (D), then pull out the SRS unit.






Installation

1. Install the SRS unit (A) with the new TORX bolts (B), then connect the connectors (C) to the SRS unit; push them into position until they click.
NOTE: Be sure the SRS unit is sitting squarely against its bracket before torquing the TORX bolts.

2. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure. Procedures

3. Calibrate the ODS unit. Programming and Relearning

4. Do the front ODS unit operation check. ODS Unit Operation Check

5. After installing the SRS unit, confirm proper system operation: Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.

6. Reinstall all removed parts.
