Differential Vent Box: Service and Repair




Rear Differential Breather Box and Hose Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Raise and support the vehicle Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the breather hose (A) from the breather pipe (B), then remove the clip (C).






3. Disconnect the breather hose (A) from the breather end (B) on the rear subframe, then remove the clips (C).






4. Remove the breather hoses (A) from the clamps (B) on the body.






5. Disconnect the breather hoses (A) from the breather box (B), then remove the breather box from the body.






Installation

NOTE: Apply a light coat of Acura All-Wheel Drive Fluid (DPSF) to the connect area of the breather hose before installation.

1. Install the breather box (A) on the body, then connect the breather hoses (B) to the breather box.






2. Install the breather hoses (A) to the clamps (B) at the paint marks (C).






3. Connect the breather hose (A) to the breather end (B), and install the clips (C) to the body and the rear subframe.






4. Connect the breather hose (A) to the breather pipe (B), and install the clip (C) to the clamp bracket (D).
