1. Remove air flow sensor boot.
2. Disconnect electrical plug on warm up regulator to avoid heating it up until cold control pressure is checked.
3. Remove fuel pump relay, and use a jumper wire across the terminals of the socket to energize the fuel pump for about 10 seconds to build fuel pressure, Fig. 24.
4. Lift air flow sensor plate. A uniform resistance should be felt along its entire path. No resistance should be felt during fast downward movement since the slowly following control piston lifts off the lever. If the air flow sensor plate is released slowly, the control piston should remain in contact with the lever.
NOTE: The sensor plate should not come in contact with any part of the housing. If the plate does touch the funnel, see "AIR FLOW SENSOR" section in "ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES" to adjust the sensor plate.
