Fuel Pressure: Specifications

Ignition timing -- 6° +/- 1° BTDC
Idle speed -- 750 - 850 rpm
CO value -- 0.6% - 1.0%
Fuel Pump Volume (cc/30 sec.):
760cc at 12vdc
600cc at 11vdc
460cc at 10vdc
320cc at 9vdc
CO% Checking and Adjusting (Duty Cycle Method)
Initial setup: Engine at normal operating temp.
Oxygen sensor connected
PCV hose at valve cover disconnected and plugged
Cap removed from evaporative canister return hose.
Duty cycle value -- 28° +/- 1°.
Differential Pressure Regulator Current -- See chart Fig. 4.
Connect a CO meter to the exhaust sampling pipe.
CO value should be -- 0.3% - 1.2%
CO% Checking and Adjusting (exhaust analyzer method)
Initial setup: Engine at normal operating temp.
Oxygen sensor disconnected
PCV hose at valve cover disconnected and plugged
Cap removed from evaporative canister return hose.
CO value should be -- 0.8% +/- 0.2%
System Pressure-- 5.2 - 5.6 bar (75 - 81 psi)
Differential Pressure:
Connector disconnected from regulator -- 0.2 - 0.5 bar (3 - 7 psi) below system pressure
Connector connected to regulator, ignition ON, and a 15K ohm resistor (VW 1490 or equivalent) connected to the temp. sensor plug -- 0.7 - 1.2 bar (10 - 17 psi) below system pressure
Differential Pressure regulator resistance -- 17.5 - 21.5 ohms
Residual Pressure (after 10 min) -- 2.6 bar (38 psi)
Injectors:
Fuel quantity after 20 sec. at full throttle -- 80 ml
Max. difference between injectors -- 8 ml

Cold start injector:
Minimum voltage supply -- 11.5vdc
Injection time (in seconds) -- See Chart, Fig. 3.
Air flow meter potentiometer:
Between terminals 2 & 3 -- less than 1K ohm
Between terminals 1 & 2 -- at least 4K ohm
