Subject: Fuel Distributor - Hard Starting



Cause:

Deformation of O-ring on pressure regulating piston in fuel distributor allows internal leakage of system pressure resulting in hard starting.
Production Change:

O-ring material change to Viton.

Service Solution:

Repair fuel distributors with kit, P/N 035 198 691. Note specified usage for two O-rings supplied in kit:

A. O-ring - for use with 4-cylinder engines, and pre-1984 5000 models.

B. D-ring - for use with 5-cylinder engines M.Y. 1984-1985. ("D" shape is in crosssectional diameter of material.)
