Fig. 11 Idle/Full Throttle Switch:

NOTE:
The full throttle switch cannot be adjusted. It is correctly adjusted when the idle switch is correctly adjusted.
1. Disconnect the throttle switch plug.
2. With the throttle plate at the idle stop, connect an ohmmeter between terminals 2 and 3 of the throttle switch.
3. There should be no continuity (infinite ohms).
4. As the throttle plate is opened, at some point near full throttle, the switch should trigger and the meter should show 0 ohms.
5. If the switch does not trigger, check idle adjustment, and recheck.
6. If the switch triggers, but a problem still exists;
a. Check wiring between throttle switch and the CIS control unit.
b. Terminal connections are:

Throttle Switch Terminal Control Unit Terminal
1 ............................ 20
3 ............................ 26

There should be no resistance between terminals.
c. Inspect the terminals for signs of poor contact due to bent terminals, corrosion, burning, etc.
7. If adjustment, wiring, and terminals all test OK, replace the throttle switch.
