Temperature Safety Switch (Multi Function Temperature Sensor)
Temperature safety switch, checkingTest conditions
^ Wastegate frequency valve OK
Work sequence
- Unplug connector from wastegate frequency valve (arrow)
- Using LED test light US 1115, conne6t red test lead to blue/black wire terminal and black test lead to green/yellow wire terminal
- Run engine at idle
- Unplug connector at throttle body (arrow)
- Using jumper cable, briefly connect terminals 2 and 3 of open throttle body switch connector
^ LED of US 1115 must go ON for approx. two seconds
If LED DOES NOT go ON
- Replace temperature switch
If LED goes ON
- Remove jumper cable from terminals 2 and 3 of connector
- Unplug connector from thermo-switch (arrow)
- Using jumper cable, connect terminal R of temperature sensor connector to ground
- Using jumper cable, bridge terminals 2 and 3 of throttle body switch connector
^ Specification: LED light must NOT go ON, or flash
If this specification is NOT met
- Check wiring between control unit and thermoswitch according to current flow diagram and repair as necessary
