Fan Control Module

To check the blower control unit:

- Remove electrical connector from control head panel
- Turn ignition "ON".





- Check for power at terminal 1 of blower control unit.
- Check for ground at terminal 5 of blower control unit.
- Connect test light between terminals 1 and 6. (Do not use a jumper wire).

^ blower motor should run.

- Connect test light between terminals 5 and 6.

^ blower should not run. If blower runs, replace blower control.

- Remove connector from blower control unit and connect wires on connector from terminals 1 and 6 with jumper wire.

^ blower motor should run. If not, replace blower motor.

Terminal Function

1 12V (Terminal 15) with ignition on from fuse 17

3 Power output to blower

5 Ground

6 Input signal from control panel head used to activate and control blower motor speed. Voltage ranges from approximately 2 volts in LO fan speed to 6 volts in HI fan speed.
