Checking For Leaks

Steering system, checking for leaks (engine running)

CAUTION: If hydraulic oil level is too low, always check power steering system for leaks

- turn steering wheel to full lock on each side and hold in position
- in this position, carry out following visual checks for leaks:
1. rotary piston valve
2. steering rack seal or seal in left end housing (remove clamp and push boot toward center)
3. central hydraulic pump
4. pipe and hose connections
