Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1. loosen and remove belts for alternator, A/C compressor, power steering pump (arrows)
2. Unbolt power steering pump, and lay to one side do not disconnect hoses.






3. loosen vibration damper (as shown).

CAUTION: DO NOT TURN CRANKSHAFT.






4. Remove drive belt cover.
5. Turn coolant pump in direction arrow A to loosen and remove drive belt
6. Remove vibration damper, drive belt sprocket
7. Remove oil dipstick.
8. Drain engine oil.






9. Remove both front bolts (arrow) on subframe
10. Turn flywheel so that recesses are pointing down vertically and remove both rear oil pan bolts.
11. Remove oil pan.






11. Remove oil pickup tube (arrow).






12. Unscrew and remove oil pump (arrow).
