Front Seat Belt - Binding





Cause:
A. Seat belt inertia reel mounting angle out of position.
B. Installation of seat belts reversed (left seat belt on right side, and vice versa).
C. Seat belt webbing twisted.

Production:
A. Service only.
B. Improved control.
C. Service only.

Service:
A. Check proper installation angle of seat belt inertia reel to bracket on B-pillar. Ensure that bracket is not bent by overtorque (see illustration).

B. Check part number on seat belts. Reinstall on correct side if necessary.
Left Side: Odd Numbers
Right Side: Even Numbers

C. If seat belt is twisted and binding, pull webbing out far enough to untwist and return to proper position.
