Ignition Lock: Service and Repair

Steering lock housing/lock cylinder, removing/installing

- remove battery ground strap from battery
- remove steering wheel
- remove steering column switch

- remove connector from ignition switch




- remove Torx screw (right arrow)
- remove column tube mounting bolts from bracket

- remove trim under left side instrument panel




- remove footwell outlet (arrow8)




- remove flange lube (arrow)
- press down column tube with steering column
- remove steering lock housing




- drill one 3.0 mm diameter hole in steering lock housing
a = 12.5 mm
b = 8.0 mm




- remove lock cylinder by pressing in check spring (arrow) with a drift
- when installing, push lock cylinder into steering housing until check spring engages
