Sensor Plate Rest Position

Sensor Plate Rest Position:

1. Check the sensor plate rest position.

^ Top surface of sensor plate should be 0.075" - 0.118" (1.9mm - 3.0mm) below the bottom edge of the air cone (see illustration).

If not, adjust by bending the wire clip holding the rest spring.

2. Remove fuel pump relay and operate fuel pump for 10 seconds by bridging between receptacle terminals 48 and 52 with a jumper wire.

3. Using a magnet or pair of pliers, slowly raise sensor plate through its full range of motion.

^ A smooth even resistance should be felt.

4. Quickly return sensor plate to its rest position.

^ Sensor plate should fall to its rest position by its own weight without resistance. If any sticking or binding is felt, replace air flow sensor.
