Ambient Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Testing and Inspection

Outside (ambient) temperature switch -F38-, checking

- Switches A/C compressor clutch OFF at low outside (ambient) temperatures
- Compressor OFF below -1 °C (30 °F)
- Compressor ON above +7 °C (45 °F)

Checking
- Place switch in freezer
- Must be no continuity between switch terminals below -1 °C (30 °F)
- Must be continuity between switch terminals above +7 °C (43 °F)
