Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR REMOVAL

Underhood Component Location Rear:

1. Disconnect electrical connectors at positions 1A & 1C or 4A & 4B depending on sensor to be replaced.
2. Cut any tie wraps holding wires as necessary.
3. Unscrew oxygen sensor.

HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR INSTALLATION

1. Coat threads of new oxygen sensor with anti-seize compound.

CAUTION: Anti-seize compound MUST NOT get into slits of sensor probe.

2. Install new oxygen sensor and torque to 37 ft.lb. (50 Nm).
3. Reinstall tie wraps to avoid contact between sensor leads and exhaust pipe.
4. Connect oxygen sensor connectors.
