Function 07 - ECM Coding

FUNCTION 07

ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM), CODING, USING VAG 1551 SCAN TOOL

Note:
When the ECM identification is displayed on the VAG 1551 scan tool, there MUST be a 3-digit code in the Coding segment

If NO or if the ECM was replaced1 code the ECM as follows:

- activate and then erase Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

- Repair Group 01 for additional information.

- start engine and let idle.




Display will appear as illustrated.

- press 0 and 7 buttons to select function 07 "coding Engine Control module"

- press Q button to enter input.

- input the correct code for this vehicle using the buttons/code variants illustrated in chart.

This display shows the ECM identification code with code example 000 inserted. For breakdown of code see chart.
