Brakes and Traction Control: Adjustments

Parking brake cable must be free of tension during basic setting check.
1. Using a suitable screwdriver, push caliper lever against stop on both sides of vehicle. Parking brake cable is too tight if lever of opposite side caliper is pulled away from stop.
2. If necessary, loosen adjustment nut for parking brake cable until both levers rest against stop.
3. Push a suitable screwdriver between end of rear spring and roller.
4. Press brake pedal once, and ensure both wheels rotate freely.
5. Remove screwdriver.
