Expansion Block/Orifice Tube: Service and Repair





- Discharge A/C refrigerant system.
- Remove evaporator inlet (high pressure) line. Hose/Line HVAC
- Using long nose pliers, remove restrictor -A- from evaporator inlet.
- Install in reverse order of removal noting the following:
- Replace 0-ring -A-.
O-ring: 7.5 mm inside diameter, 1.5 mm thickness
- Insert restrictor -A- into evaporator inlet so that arrow on restrictor points toward evaporator.
- Push restrictor into inlet until fully seated.

NOTE:
- Restrictor must fit tight in inlet.
- Only use new O-rings specified for use with R-134a.
- O-ring and torque specifications also apply to threaded connections in the A/C lines.
- Make sure that A/C refrigerant lines are properly insulated from exhaust system heat.
