Toe should only be checked and adjusted after the caster and camber have been adjusted to specification.
Check toe with the front wheels in the straight ahead position. Lock steering wheel in place and measure distance between extreme front and also between the extreme rear of both front wheels. The difference between these two distances is the toe-in, or toe-out dimensions, Fig. 3.

Adjustment

Use only optical measuring equipment when checking and adjusting toe.

1. Remove front bolts for left side engine compartment brace, then the left air intake retainer and air intake.
2. Remove air filter housing top section, then the bottom section. Push backward and remove upward.
3. Adjust steering to straight ahead position, then insert centering tool 3076 or equivalent into holes provided (drive hub for steering tie rods and lid of steering unit).
4. Measure and divide total toe in half and set tie rods accordingly.
5. Tighten clamps and locknuts on tie rods, then reposition steering wheel, if necessary.
6. Remove centering tool.
