Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Ignition Rotor: Service and Repair

NOTE: The rotor is glued to the distributor shaft and cannot be removed without being destroyed.

To replace rotor:
1. Cover distributor beneath rotor with a rag to prevent pieces from falling into distributor body.
2. Break off old rotor with pliers
3. Thoroughly clean glue from shaft and glue new rotor in place, making sure rotor is properly seated on shaft.
