Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

Ignition switch, removing/installing

Removing

- remove battery ground strap
- remove steering wheel and steering column switches
- remove instrument cluster
- remove trim under left side of instrument panel
- remove connector from ignition switch




- remove locking compound from switch mounting screws (arrows)
- loosen screws slightly and pull ignition switch from housing

Installing

- install in reverse order of removal

After installing ignition switch:
- apply locking compound to switch mounting screws
