Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair



Airbag Control Module - J234 -, Removing And Installing

CAUTION: Note safety measures when working on airbag.

Removing
- For vehicles with coded radio unit, radio/navigation system (RNS) note coding; ask if necessary.
- Disconnect battery and remove negative pole.
- Remove center console.







- Disconnect left connector on control module - 1 -.
- Remove 3 nuts.
- Remove control module.

Installing
Installation is done in reverse sequence, noting the following:







- Note spacer sleeves - 2 -.
- Tighten nuts to 6 Nm (53 in.lb.).
- Switch ignition on.

WARNING: When disconnecting the battery no person should be in the interior of the vehicle.

- Connect battery
- If the control module is replaced, it must be coded.
