Low Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

A/C Refrigerant Low Pressure Switch -F73-

Function
- Switches A/C compressor off in the event of pressure drop in refrigerant system (protects compressor when circuit empty).

Switching pressures:
- Compressor off (switch opens) 1.45 up to 1.6 bar pressure
- Compressor on (switch closes) 2.9 to 3.4 bar pressure

Removing and installing






- Unplug connector -A-.
- Replace O-ring -B- (8.9 x 1.8 mm).
- Tightening torque: 5 Nm (44 in.lb)


NOTE:
- To test the A/C system cooling performance, with the switch removed, bridge the two terminals in connector -A-.
- The refrigerant system remains closed due to the Schrader valve.
