Function description
The production diagnostic is a special mode for checking the wiring and functionality of the navigation system. For this, an automatic check of the individual malfunction locations is conducted and the result is stored permanently in the so called function status register (measured value block 007).

The production diagnostic can be locked i.e. switched free via the adaptation (channel number 03). Programming and Relearning

The production diagnostic is also locked if a navigation-CD is inserted.

The function status register is also reset via the "erase DTC memory" function.

Test requirements
- Navigation-CD is not inserted
- Navigation switched on
- Tire circumference was adapted Programming and Relearning
- Pulse number per wheel rotation (GALA) was adapted Programming and Relearning
- DTC memory erased Erase DTC Memory (Scan Tool Function 05)
- Move vehicle at a speed of at least 10 km/h
- With vehicle standing still select reverse gear for at least 2 seconds

If the production diagnostic was performed correctly (all test requirements met) and if the navigation system is OK, the value 255 appears in measured value block 007 (function status register).
