Airbag Control Module -J234-, Assembly Overview

CAUTION: Observe safety precautions for working on airbag.







1 - Airbag Control Module J234
- Removing
- Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
- Remove center console.
- Release catch - 4 - at connector - 3 -.
- Pull connector - 3 - out of control unit - 1 -.
- Remove bolts - 2 - (3x). Detach control unit.
2 - Bolts (3x)
- Tightening torque 7 Nm
3 - Connector
4 - Securing clip

NOTE:
- After connecting the battery observe the necessary measures.
- If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after assembly, use vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 A to interrogate, erase and then again interrogate DTC memory.
- The control module must be recoded after replacement.
