Airbag Control Unit -J234-, Removing And Installing







WARNING!
Observe safety precautions for working on airbag.


1 - Airbag control unit -J234-
- Removing
- Disconnect battery ground (GND) strap.
- Remove center console.
- Release catch -4- at connector -3-.
- Pull connector -3- out of control unit -1-.
- Unscrew bolts -2- (3x).
- Remove control unit.
2 - Bolts (3x)
- Tightening torque 7 Nm.

4 - Securing clip


NOTE:
- After connecting the battery observe the necessary measures.
- If airbag malfunction warning lamp -K75- signals a malfunction after assembly, the DTC memory must be interrogated with vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051, then erased and re-interrogated.
- The control unit must be recoded after replacement.
