Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Toe at Front Wheels, Adjusting

Toe at front wheels, adjusting

- Counterhold tie rod ball joint -A- with a 24 mm wrench when loosening and tightening lock nut -B-.
- Loosen lock nut -B-.

- Adjust toe at left and right-hand wheels by turning hex flats -C-.

Make sure that boots are not twisted after turning tie rods.
Twisted rubber boots wear out quickly.

- Tighten lock nut -B- to 50 Nm and check toe-in setting again.

The setting may change slightly after tightening lock nut -B-.
The adjustment is correct if the measured toe value is still inside the tolerance.
