Electronic Parking Brake Control Module -J540-, Removing And Installing

CAUTION: Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:
^ Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.
^ Switch the ignition off.
^ Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.
^ On vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar, switch-off the emergency (backup) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module prior to disconnecting vehicle battery.
^ After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to Repair Manual and/or Owner's Manual.
^ After reconnecting vehicle battery on vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar43, switch-on the emergency (backup) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module

Removing
- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding" routine.
- VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnostic Testing and Information System must be used for this purpose.
- Remove battery






- Pull locking slide in direction of arrow and unplug connector-1-.
- Item -2- EPB control module
- Remove nuts -arrows-.
Tightening torque 10 Nm
- Remove Electronic Parking Brake Control Module -J540-.

Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence, when doing this note the following:
- Select function "Replacing" in the "Guided fault finding" when replacing control module.

To do this, use vehicle diagnostic, and information system VAS 5051.
