Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

Front Axle Toe-In Curve, Adjusting

Front axle toe-in curve, adjusting

Explanatory notes:
The compression and rebound movement of the front wheels alters the toe value as a function of the compression/rebound travel. The resulting toe values are referred to as the toe-in curve.

The change in the toe-constant "S" is adjusted with the vehicle lifted by vertical displacement of the tie rod end.

The electronic wheel alignment equipment determines the toe-constant "S" by comparing one value measured with the suspension in the initial position and one value measured with the vehicle lifted. It compares the actual values with the specified values and displays them on the screen.

Different adapters are required for lifting the suspension, depending on the type of suspension.

Note:
^ An incorrectly set toe-constant causes steering deviation when braking/accelerating or when driving over uneven surface.
