Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Tiptronic Switch (F189)

• The Tiptronic switch is a component of the circuit board.

• The Tiptronic switch is secured on the cover strip.

Removing

- Remove the handle on the selector lever. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Handle ] Selector Lever Handle.

- Remove the selector mechanism cover. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Cover ] Selector Mechanism Cover

- Press frame - B - together a center area - arrows - as remove cover molding - A - at the same time.





- Carefully lever out the mounting lugs - arrow A - and - arrow B - (mounting lugs are covered).





- Remove guide and cover strip with Tiptronic switch from frame.

• The circuit board - 1 - can only be replaced together with the frame.

• The Tiptronic switch solenoid can only be replaced together with the cover strip.

• Replace the guide if the mounting lugs are damaged.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

- Install the shift mechanism cover. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Cover ] Selector Mechanism Cover.

- Install the front ashtray.

- Install the handle on the selector lever. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Handle ] Selector Lever Handle.
