Fuel Level Sensor 3, Checking, Left Tubular Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hand-Held Multimeter (V.A.G 1526D)

Connector Test Set (V.A.G 1594C)

Procedure

- Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.

- Unbolt cover for left locking flange - arrows -.





- Disconnect electrical harness connector - 2 - at left locking flange.





Ignore - 1 -.

- Connect multimeter between terminal - 2 - and - 3 - of connector - A - for resistance measurement.










If measured value is 0 Ohms there is a short circuit. If measured value is Greater than 1K Ohms there is an open circuit in the wiring.

To check resistance values "tank full" or "tank empty", the Fuel Level Sensor 3 (G237) must be removed. Refer to => [ Fuel Level Sensor 3, Left Tubular Sensor ] Fuel Level Sensor 3, Left Tubular Sensor and the sensor floater must be allowed to float to upper or lower end position.
