Camshaft Adjustment, FunctionThe adjustment of intake
camshaft is load- and RPM dependent. Exhaust camshafts are not adjusted.
Oil pressure is switched to camshaft adjusters (mechanical adjustment devices) via the solenoid valves for
camshaft adjustment.
The camshaft adjusters then set intake camshafts of both cylinder banks to the direction "early", meaning that the intake valves open earlier.
