Headlamp Control Module: Service and Repair






Headlamp Range Control Module

• Component location: On instrument panel support behind instrument cluster.

Removing

- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).

- Select the function or path:






- Follow the instructions on the (VAS 5051B) display.

- Remove instrument cluster => [ Instrument Cluster ] Instrument Cluster.

- Remove bolts - arrows - and remove bracket - 1 - for headlamp range control module (J431) from instrument panel support.





- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 -.





- Remove nuts - arrows - and detach headlamp range control module - item 1 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

If headlamp range control module (J431) was replaced, it must be re-coded with the (VAS 5051B).

- Select the function or path:






- Follow the instructions on the (VAS 5051B) display.

- Install instrument cluster. Refer to => [ Instrument Cluster ] Instrument Cluster.
