HID Headlamps

CAUTION!
Before beginning repairs on the electrical system:

Obtain the anti-theft radio security code.

Switch the ignition off.

Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap.

After reconnecting vehicle battery, re-code and check operation of anti-theft radio. Also check operation of clock and power windows according to Repair Information and/or Owner's Manual.

Steps after reconnecting voltage supply => Battery.

CAUTION!
high voltage!

Make sure to disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap before performing work on parts of High intensity gas discharge (xenon) headlamps marked with yellow high voltage symbols.

HID Headlamps

Removing

CAUTION!
High voltage!

Make sure to disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap before performing work on parts of High intensity gas discharge (xenon) headlamps marked with yellow high voltage symbols.

Left headlamp:

- Remove cover - 1 - in engine compartment (left side).





Right headlamp:

- Remove cover - 1 - in engine compartment (right side), if present.





- Remove bolts - arrows -.





- Detach Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80) - 1 - at air guide.

- Remove air guide - 2 -.

Continuation for both sides:

- Apply adhesive tape below the headlamp to protect the paint.

- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 4 -.





- Loosen screw - 2 - several turns but do not remove completely.

- Cut cable tie if present.

- Disconnect electrical harness connector - 3 -.

- Swing headlamp in direction of fender.





- Remove headlamp from body toward front.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, paying attention to the following:

- Push headlamp horizontally up to stop on bottom headlamp mount.

- Align headlamp to contours of body (gap widths).

Note area of fender panel cut out when aligning headlamp.

- Tighten bolts - 1 -, - 2 - and - 4 -.





- Adjust headlamp after installing => [ HID Headlamps, Adjusting ] HID Headlamps.
