Tightening Torques

Cylinder head
Replace cylinder head bolts





Tighten cylinder head in sequence indicated, in two stages as follows:

1. Step 40 Nm
2. Step 180 ° (1/2 turn) further (2 x 90 ° further is permissible)

Guide Frame





Tighten bolts in sequence shown.
Bearing Bracket 8 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)

Main bearing cap
Tighten 65 Nm plus an additional 90 ° (1/4 turn)

Connecting rod bearing cap
Connecting rod bolt 30 Nm plus an additional (90 °) 1/4 turn

Intake Manifold
Bolts for Intake Manifold 9 Nm

Vibration damper/Belt pulley

Torque Specifications:

Drive Plate

Torque Specification:

Balance shaft assembly with oil pump and intermediate plate





Tighten bolts - arrows - from inside toward outside.

Note:
^ Observe the different lengths of bolts.

^ Pay attention to centering sleeves.

Tightening Sequence:

Coolant pump to cylinder block 15 Nm
