Notes On Repairs Of CAN Bus Wires







- An unshielded two-strand wire - 1 - and - 2 - with a cross-section of 0.35 sq.mm or 0.5 sq.mm is used as CAN bus wire.
- CAN bus wires have the following color coding:

CAN High wire, powertrain orange/black
CAN High wire, Comfort orange/green
CAN High wire, Infotainment orange/violet
CAN Low wire, all orange/brown

- Wiring harness repairs may only be carried out using yellow wires. Mark repaired areas using yellow adhesive tape.
- During repair work, both bus wires must have the same length. When twisting together wires - 1 - and - 2 -, length of lay of - A - = 20 mm must be observed.
- While doing so, no section of wire must be greater than - B - = 50 mmwithout twisting of wires, e.g. in area of welded connectors - arrow -.
