Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair






Speedometer Vehicle Speed Sensor

Removing

- Remove left front wheel.

- Remove left drive axle heat shield - arrows -.





• The third bolt is not visible in the illustration.

- Disconnect electrical connector - arrow A - on Speedometer Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) (G22) on transmission.





• Disregard - arrow B -.

- While pushing holding clip of sensor down, turn and pull out sensor.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

• Replace O-rings.

- Lightly coat the O-rings - arrows - with ATF before installing to prevent them from being crushed when assembling.





- Insert sensor and engage retaining bracket on flange shaft mounting bracket.

- Mount the left front wheel.
